Dr Edward Worth (1678-1733), an early eighteenth-century Dublin physician, left his library to Dr Steevens’ Hospital, Dublin, where it remains to this day, a testament to Worth’s abiding interest in all things medical and scientific.

To mark Dublin City of Science, the online exhibition will focus on Worth’s extensive scientific collection. It will celebrate Edward Worth’s fascinating collection of works by Sir Isaac Newton and his followers and it will investigate the impact of Newtonian thought in Early Modern Europe. This web exhibition, curated by the Librarian of the Edward Worth Library, Dr. Elizabethanne Boran, will be launched during Dublin Science Week in November 2012. It will be the fourth in a series of websites exploring the holdings of the Library.
