RCPI Public Meeting – The Role of a Health Lifestyle

Date: Tuesday, 16 October
Time: 18:20-20:30
Location: Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, No. 6 Kildare Street, Dublin 2

In line with RCPI’s mission to promote health in Ireland, the RCPI Promoting A Healthy Nation Public Meeting Series has been developed whereby expert advice and medical knowledge can be made available to the general public with the aim of raising awareness of key healthcare issues and providing an opportunity for the public to communicate their concerns to RCPI and others.

The broadcaster Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, will chair a public meeting on ageing and the role that a healthy lifestyle plays in slowing down the ageing process. Chris Crowley, 78-year old motivational speaker and New York Times bestselling co-author of the Younger Next Year books, is travelling from the US to talk about nutrition, wellbeing and ageing, and Professor Rose Ann Kenny, Head of Gerontology at Trinity College Dublin, who is conducting The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA): a study of a representative cohort of over 8,500 people resident in Ireland aged 50+, charting their health, social and economic circumstances over a 10-year period.

There are a limited number of tickets available for this meeting, so registration is essential. A live webcast of the event will also be available on the day at www.rcpi.ie.
