In their first ever live event, Newstalk’s Futureproof team will take you to the movies. The weekly science show has decided to explore the real science behind some of the most iconic science fiction movies, kicking off with Andrew Niccol’s Gattaca. This special screening at Science Gallery will be accompanied by a Q&A with geneticist Kevin Mitchell in what promises to be an entertaining and enlightening event.

Hosted by Jonathan McCrea, Futureproof at the Movies will be an evening for science nerds and movie fans alike, and it will be a chance for you to ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask about clones, genes, and Ethan Hawke’s hair. See you at Science Gallery!

Futureproof is the weekly science show on Newstalk 106-108fm, offering a fresh take on how extraordinary science applies to everyday life. Broadcast every Saturday at 6pm, it is also available on iTunes. Futureproof at the Movies is the first in a series of live Futureproof events for Dublin City of Science 2012.
