What happens when an artist plays with science? And hangs it in a museum? And an art expert walks into it? And falls over? Who picks it all up and how exactly does a hoover work?

These and other questions will be thrown up in the air at IMMA on Sunday 8th July. Where will they land!? Nobody knows. (But it is safe to assume on the floor, probably.) This way ladies and gentlemen, boys and toys, girls and twirls, all are invited to be led by the nose, (or just play it by ear) through this museum of Art.

Art of the modernest type. Fear not for all visitors shall be in the hands of experts. Two of the finest minds of our time will guide the visitors through the intricacies, the delicacies, the species of paint, plaster, plastic and pencil. And film. And other… stuff.

Painter and decorator Con Astair and European Scientist Karl Heinz Ruminegge are no strangers to these parts. And Karl is one of the deepest thinkers. (He lives in a submarine off Hamburg.)

Merging science, art and - no sniggering down the back! – THEATRE! Karl and Con will open our sleepy, Sunday eyes to the secrets of the Irish Museum of Modern Art at Earlsfort Terrace.

Actors Louis Lovett and Jaimie Carswell will lead an audience of armchair experts, artefacts, scientists and fans of complete nonsense through the hallowed halls of Earlsfort terrace taking in the work of internationally renowned visual artists, the opinions of security guards and whatever you’re having yourself.
