13-18 November 2012
The Dublin Book Festival is a showcase for Irish publishers and writers. It is fitting that it takes place this year in Smock Alley Theatre and the Gutter Bookshop in Temple Bar (as well as several libraries around Dublin) as the surrounding area was once home to many 18th century printers and publishers. Our children’s events are all free and the vast majority of adult events are free too. We have talks, discussions, book signings, a bookshop, walking tours, workshops, a reading area, a cozy children’s corner, question and answer sessions, book launches, a festival club, Irish language events and panels on a huge mix of genres such as crime, history, science-fiction, cookery, poetry, health and gardening.
Looking for something to entertain the children on a cold November day? Want to get an early start on your Christmas shopping in our festival bookshop? Want to discover a new author or be inspired by Dublin and its rich literary history? There is something for everyone at the Dublin Book Festival.
