Smart Futures is a national campaign for second-level students in Ireland, highlighting career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and what skills are needed to get into working in exciting and dynamic areas like gaming, app development, energy, medical devices, cybersecurity, computer forensics and much more.
Want to speak to someone working in these career areas? Easy! Just go to http://smartfutures.ie/chat/ and post your questions to the website before 28th September.
You can ask them what subjects to study, what skills are needed, what they do on a day-to-day basis, do they get to travel, does their company have graduate programmes and what do they love most about their jobs! We have a panel of people ready to take your questions on the following areas:
Medical technology products such as pacemakers, heart stents and contact lenses are used in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, alleviating pain and assisting people with disabilities. Meet the panel

The nationwide competition for second-level school students has some great prizes including a MacBook laptop and an iPad2. They also have a special prize for primary school students of an Xbox Kinect.
