St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

HOW? WHAT? WHY? – Explore the Wonder and Curiosity of Science. 

The 2012 St. Patrick’s Festival Parade in Dublin will have a scientific theme to mark Dublin City of Science 2012. The pageant companies have all responded to a scientifically focused creative brief and will present a world class pageant piece in their own inimitable style.The science themed parade will meander down the streets of Dublin in an explosion of colour and intrigue on March 17th.

St. Patrick’s Festival Treasure Hunt:

The Discovering Science Treasure Hunt is a Free fun filled novel trail through a collection of Dublin city’s landmark buildings and venues each with their own unique science-related connection.  Plot your route, solve the clues and chase back to base at Dublin’s City Hall to finish and record your adventure.  A fun event for all ages and a great way to discover the city or to see it through different eyes.

Get into the spirit and dress up in a Science themed costume. Entertainment and spot prizes throughout the day!

How to Play
– Enter in teams of four
– Register at City Hall and receive your team pack
– Answer all questions in the literary venues
– Collect stamps from each participating venue from identifiable festival staff
– Return to City Hall and receive your time of completion
– The winners will be posted on www.stpatricksfestival.ie

The Big Day Out

with Discover Science & Engineering

A street carnival like no other, Big Day Out is bursting with colour, street performances, theatrics, Irish language events, workshops, science, fun zones, music, open air shows and more.

Experience the wonder and excitement of science in a fun, entertaining and interactive manner at the Discover Science & Engineering area.  Come make some Dublin City of Science Robots and roll up your sleeves for Dublin Mini Maker Faire and their crazy gadgets. You don’t have to be a Young Einstein to get involved, just roll up and take part!
