Programme of Events

The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children in celebration of Dublin City of Science 2012 presents ‘AWAKENING CURIOSITY’ from Monday 14th May – Monday 6th August 2012. Specially designed and commissioned for school groups, children aged 2-12 and families, this exciting programme will include an interactive exhibition, guided experiences and a range of special events.  Awakening Curiosity explores nature, biodiversity and our environment in an imaginative fusion of art and science.  Spread over 5 floors of The Ark in Temple Bar, Dublin, Irish and international artists will create installations to stimulate and awaken children’s curiosity through rich, playful and imaginative experiences.  

Awakening Curiosity is made possible by: The Arts Council and the Public Engagement Programme (PEP) for Dublin City of Science 2012 and is grant aided by the Department of Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht. The Ark is also supported by the Department of Education & Skills, Professional Development Service for Teachers, Dublin City Council, and Temple Bar Cultural Trust.
